Find Out MoreHey,Hi, Hello. I'm Philip Tietjen and am a hard working computer programmer always looking for new opportunities and learning new things!
I was born in 1994 in the United Kingdom and lived there up until November 2007. My family and I moved to Ontario, Canada and have been here ever since. I mostly excel in web development and web design but am still skilled and enthusiastic about other areas of software development.
During my free time I typically enjoy keeping fit with weight lifting, playing video games, following the video games industry, and spending time with my partner and daughter.
The beginning of my post secondary education and re introduction into programming. With minor programming education from high school and a great understanding of computers from personal interests, I enrolled into 2 years of computer programming (COPR) to pursue a career with computers.
During my first 4 month work term between my study terms I worked for One More Story Games as a Junior Client Developer. One More Story Games develops 2 pieces of software, Story Stylus used for creating interactive stories and Story World used as a platform to play the interactive stories; I worked on Story World. Working as a junior client programmer in my first non paid work term, I got the chance to work with some familiar technology and some unfamiliar. Utilizing a MYSQL database using PHP to talk to a flash built client running in an internet browser was all familiar despite the use of action script that is used for flash. Using existing knowledge of similar object orientated programming such as Java to learn quickly to perform tasks. In my short time at One More Story Games I completed regular bug fixing and implemented a new system called a "Task List" into the client side that would enable stories to have a set of tasks displayed for the player to summarize their following steps to take.
During my Second 4 month work term between my study terms I worked for 44 North Digital Marketing as a Junior Web Developer. Working as a Junior Web Developer at 44 North Digital Marketing my responsibilities include creating responsive, appealing, lead generating websites for our clients. Using in depth knowledge and understanding of WordPress's architecture with themes and plugins to fit custom needs for clients and integrating websites with applications such as Active Campaign and Zapier to create auto responding email services.
After just over 2 years of hard work and living off of a student budget, I graduated from Georgian college with a diploma in Computer Programming.
Using ASP.NET MVC 5 in a small group of 4, working as a lead we created a make belief e commerce website about fitness supplements. Working the ASP.NET MVC is a dream to create websites with.
